The Nation's Current LSS

I don't want to discuss about the sensationalized sex video circus here in the Philippines but I can't help but talk about an offshoot of this scandal: The sudden rise of the song CARELESS WHISPER!
I'm sure 8/10 of Filipinos are singing/humming the song whether consciously or not.
The song was used by two people involved in the scandal for a rehearsal for a TV show and on that video they wore skimpy outfits and, well, the dancing rehearsals was a bit too hot to handle so to speak haha. Initially, this was the supposed "video scandal" but its pretty much R-18 level but of course months after the real XXX videos came out. What a twist of fate the message of the song somewhat mirrored what happened to the people involved in the scandal. (If you notice I refuse to drop names because I'm so sick with them already, they're all over the news already even overshadowing more important news!)

Anyway, some information on the song, it was released in 1984 by George Michael and it hit number one in the Billboard Hot 100 and considered one of the most successful songs of the 1980s.
But for us, this song will be forever be identified with the scandal and symbolizes how we get so attached or involved with this nasty dirty scandals. As expected, this song has been receiving significant airplay these days, I think I heard it like 10 times today from jeeps to buses to stores and households I pass by.
.
Also this year rock band Seether released a cover of this song, which is an excellent version of it, but it did not received any airplay here in the Mega Manila stations but maybe now that the original version is extremely popular it could gain attention .
.....or maybe not since the original will leave a special part for the people. Recent events immortalized this song. Its funny and disturbing at the same time.
