Chart Recap Extra: Tambayan 101.9 Top 20

When 101.9 reformatted to Tambayan 101.9 late last year I was surprised to find out that they canceled their weekly countdown. Since the late 90s when I started my radio charts addiction, a weekly countdown has always been a staple of 101.9 from WRR to WRR For Life to 101.9 For Life Alam Mo Na Yan to Bespren 101.9 For Life. The weekly countdown from 101.9 stayed despite the numerous rebranding several years, it was already called Top Hits Express then morphed into Saturday Top 40 then eventually changing to Saturday Top 20. It was always on a Saturday. 101.9 was the only masa station in Mega Manila to consistently have a weekly countdown over the years.
I was really sad when they reformatted to Tambayan 101.9 they did not have a music countdown. It just feels different. Now after nine months, I was surprised to see when I was checking the Spam folder in my e-mail updates from the multiply page of Tambayan 101.9 (I rarely open my multiply accountsthese days). And what are those updates? TAMBAYAN TOP 20! I was surprised to see that but glad to know that Tambayan's countdown is back. But not really. There is really no countdown show yet, let me share the response from Tambayan 101.9 when I sent an e-mail asking what is the schedule of their countdown.

Sa ngayon, hindi pa umeere ang countdown ng Tambayan 101.9 dahil pinag
aaralan naming mabuti kung paano pa mapapaganda at mapapabuti ang countdownpara mas ma enjoy at ma appreciate ng mga tambayers na katulad mo namahilig sa countdown.

Ulit, maraming maraming salamat sa iyo at sana mag patuloy pa rin ang
suporta mo sa Tambayan 101.9.
