Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: August 13, 2011)

"Party Rock Anthem" continues its Hot 100 dominance as it spends its 5th consecutive week atop the chart. It's now tied with Katy Perry's "E.T" as third longest running #1 song on the Hot 100 this year after Lady GaGa's "Born This Way" (6 weeks) and Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" (7 weeks).

Britney Spear's "I Wanna Go" ascends #11-#9 to land Britney's 12th top hit of her career aside for finally producing three top 10 hits from one album. Despite mega-album sales and enormous popularity during the early part of her Britney didn't land many chart hits on the Hot 100 due to the fact that physical singles sales were already on the decline and for some most of her songs didn't receive that much radio love.

Country group The Band Perry is up #15-#14 with their song "If I Die Young", the song is on its 36th week on the chart and with Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)' dropping out this week this make its the longest chart sitter on the chart and with this song still rising, the song has a great shot to make it to the 50+ weeks on chart club. Let's wait and see.

Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" jumps from #29 to #18 this week and with the song currently at the top 5 of US iTunes, it will surely rise more next week. I hope it could land the top 10 soon as it is refreshing for this kind of song to breakthrough on the chart.

Maroon Five and Christina Aguilera's "Moves Like Jagger" rises #41-#25 this week as the song is rising in airplay thus helping it go back to the upper portion of the chart. The song debuted at #8 in the wake of "The Voice" performance of the song but dropped fast in the succeeding weeks. The song is actually back at #1 on US iTunes as I type this thanks to TV performances of the song. Will it beat it's debut peak at #8? Let's wait and see.

After finally cracking the top 40 last week Rihanna's "California King Bed" dives from #37 all the way to #54 and it looks this song has already peaked as Rihanna already released a new single "Cheers" which debuts at #91 this week. After five straight #1s ("Rude Boy", Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie", "Only Girl", "What's My Name" and "S&M") "California King Bed's" performance is definitely disappointing although I personally think this is one of her best songs.
Aside from "California King Bed" Rihanna also released "Man Down" to urban and rhythmic radio but it was also not successful as the song only peaked at #59. Let's see if "Cheers (Drink To That)" can help Rihanna back on top of the chart.
