Philippine Box Office Roundup 11

Here's the 11th edition of my Philippine Box Office Roundup and you can read my previous recap here. And as always here are some notes with regards to my box office roundup:
  • The following box office stats are from the ever awesome Box Office Mojo's Philippine Box Office Index. Thus, my box office comparisons and analysis are only limited to what Box Office Mojo has in its records
  • Studios and local distributors sometimes issues press releases about the box office performance of their movies and there are instances that they do not exactly match the data Box Office Mojo have in hand. I'm not sure how wide Box Office Mojo's scope is with our local theaters but for the purposes of a consistent discussion and analysis I will only focus on the numbers posted at Box Office Mojo.
  • I added some stuff like the Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol box office for 2012 since Box Office Mojo does not include that 2011 holdover on their Top Movies 2012 list. Meanwhile the box office numbers for the holdovers from the MMFF last year are not on BOM's list so they're not on here as well.
  • Box Office Mojo does not have the numbers for Ayala Cinemas Exclusive My Week with Marilyn so it's not on the charts below.

As expected, The Avengers dominated the Philippine Box Office and setting record breaking numbers! The movie easily topped the year to date rankings and is ahead of the #2 movie by over 100 million pesos! MASSIVE!

Here are some of the records set by the movie:
  • Biggest Wednesday Ever: P56.6-M, beating “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s” P55.4-M.
  • Biggest Thursday Ever: P44.1M, smashing “Spider-man 3’s P28.4-M
  • Biggest Friday Ever: P45.3-M, outgrossing “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1’s” P44.1-M.
  • Biggest Saturday Ever: P66.4-M, breaking “Transformers: Dark of the Moon’s” P60.8-M.
  • Biggest Sunday Ever: P68.5M, outlasting “Transformers: Dark of the Moon’s” P60.8M. Sunday’s receipts for “The Avengers” also now holds the distinction of the all-time biggest single-day gross in the country.
Elsewhere on the chart, Wrath of the Titans moves ahead of The Hunger Games for the #3 while Battleship overtakes Underworld: Awakening for the 5th spot.

Here are the Philippine Box Office charts (both in dollars and pesos) as I originally posted at the BoxOffice.com forums:
