Carly Rae Jepsen continues to rule over the Billboard Hot 100, logging in a 4th week atop the chart with her pop culture phenomenon Call Me Maybe. With such a massive breakthrough hit from a new artist, it's not surprising that people are already labeling the Canadian Idol alum as one hit wonder but as far as the Hot 100 goes, she already escapes the 'one hit wonder' tag (in Billboard, one hit wonders are for artist who only one charting song in their discography) as she enters the chart at #18 with the Owl City's track Good Time where she is a featured artist. Good Time is currently in the top 10 of US iTunes and enjoying good airplay so there's actually a chance that both artists could get a big hit after their #1 breakthrough (in case you forgot Owl City topped the Hot 100 in 2009 with Fireflies, his first chart entry ever and after that Owl City had other songs that charted but didn't last long enough to be considered a hit).
The rest of the top 10 is static except at #9 with David Guetta and Sia's Titanium rising to #9 displacing One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful which drops to #11. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj's Starships logs its 20th week on the chart which it all spent bouncing from #10 to #5. It actually ties Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling for the longest uninterrupted top 10 run with 20 weeks.
Adele's Set Fire to the Rain retires to recurrent status after 43 weeks on the chart (2 weeks at #1), with that song dropping out of the Hot 100 this is the first chart since Rolling in the Deep debuted in late 2010 that we don't have any Adele song on the chart.
LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem hangs on at #50 on its 67th week on the chart, the third longest running song of all time on the Hot 100, can the song last long enough to match or surpass the #2 placer How Do I Live by Lee Ann Rhimes which logged in 69 weeks on the chart? It will be tough but let's wait and see.
