Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: July 21, 2012)

2012's pop culture juggernaut Call Me Maybe is unstoppable as the Carly Rae Jepsen songs spends a 5th week atop the Billboard Hot 100. The rest of the top 10 is basically the same with a couple of songs switching places. Katy Perry's Wide Awake is currently on top the US iTunes chart and could likely be a contender to unseat Call Me Maybe since Maroon Five's Payphone is already declining in sales (albeit dominating airplay). Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj's Starships sets a record for the longest consecutive stay in the top 10 as the song spends its 21st week on the chart eclipsing the record held by Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling which spent its 20 weeks consecutively in the top 10. Minaj's record will be challenged by Maroon Five's Payphone which debuted in the top 3 and never left 12 weeks later. Starships is already going down while Payphone won't likely fall out of the top 10 anytime soon

Just as you thought LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem will go recurrent this week, the 3rd longest staying on Hot 100 history escapes retirement and inches #50-#49 this week on its 68th week on the chart, the song is just week shy of matching Lee Ann Rhimes' How Do I Live 69 weeks longevity record. Will they share second place (or even surpass it?) Let's wait and see ;)
